Girl Scout Troop 860 Took Over Satchel’s On Sunday!

We had the most terrific time hosting Girl Scout Troop 860 for a whirlwind 1½‑hour community service adventure at Satchel’s. These girls packed more into an early afternoon than most adults do in a day.

Our special guest, author Robert Kowalski, kicked things off by sharing his book Busco: We are all just mutts after all! He even surprised each girl with her own personalized, signed copy. They read together, talked about the fears of not fitting in or being judged, and asked the kind of thoughtful questions only kids can come up with.

From there, it was off to explore our open cat room (instant fan favorites), followed by peanut‑butter‑covered creativity as they made dog treats for our pups. And because no perfect morning is complete without something sweet… every girl finished with a hand‑scooped ice cream cone.
